This evening the cold front passed through and ushered in some much needed relief from the last couple days of humidity. The last several days were 80's and 90's and the humidity made me sweat just thinking about working outside. However, the Cabernet Franc needed to be pruned, leaf pulled and fruit thinned. Thanks to a heroic effort by Becky, Jody, Lee, Colton, Peter, Quentin, Elliot and Dominic we finished the Cab Franc, got the bird netting in place and made the vineyard ready for the thunderstorms that we knew were going to arrive each evening. It was an awesome effort and we did it together.
As you can see, I took the opportunity to relax and enjoy the literal fruit of our labors this evening. The weather has broken and we are in for a week of cooler temperatures and lower humidity. And we all rejoice about that.
