Free Vineyard Tours Sat., June 2
If you are planning on stopping by on Saturday to enjoy our grand opening, we are also offering free Vineyard tours. As my pictures above show, the vineyard is looking exceptional right now. The Chambourcin and Concord vines are in bloom and the Chardonnay, Vidal, can Cabernet Franc are very close top opening. The Vineyards and winery are going to open at 10:00 AM and we are going to offer Vineyard tours every 30 min. beginning at 10:00. If the weather is as hot as it has been this weekend, it might pay to come early before the crowd and the heat build. We look forward to seeing everyone and enjoying your visit with us this coming weekend. Tomorrow I plan to post our tasting list for anyone who is unfamiliar with all of our wines. That way you can better plan your tasting selections and enjoy a relaxing time at the vineyards.

Grand Opening June 2 Is Official !!!
Thanks to our add appearing in the Hummelstown Sun on Thursday, it now feels like our opening day plans are official. Something about the definity of the printed page makes it feel like it is "set in stone". I guess that makes me sort of a technological Cave Man! Somehow social media and the electronic copies seem so temporary but paper was made to last. Now it's official, we have been covered in the Harrisburg Patriot on their PennLive column and on the printed page in our local paper. Next Saturday will be here soon and we hope to see you at the Grand Opening.

More Local Art
Here is another picture of the beautiful copper topped bar that Cole and Cody Ebersole constructed for the tasting room. Another local artist and friend named Tim Hoover also helped to decorate the winery by designing and making a beautiful piece from vines. The vines are mounted over the exit which leads into the vineyard. It is a very simple yet beautiful visual display which compliments the light pine and copper interior. Thanks to Tim, Cole, Cody and Claire we will have plenty of beauty both inside and outside our tasting room.

Art in the Tasting Room at Cassel Vineyards
Well, as you can see, the tasting room is coming along very well. This past weekend our friends Cole and Cody Ebersole put the finishing touches on our beautiful bar. Cody designed and built the entire bar with all of it's unique character and Cole came out to install the copper top. The bar is just looking incredible thanks to the work of the Ebersole brothers. A second focal point in the tasting room is the beautiful picture which was painted by one of our art students at the high school. Claire Baker put her beautiful work on the auction block to raise money for the Lower Dauphin chapter of the Art National Honor Society. The piece is just beautiful and looks like it was made just for our tasting room. Thanks to Cole, Cody and Claire our new tasting room is going to provide visitors with beautiful views both inside and out. We hope you like it.
Our New Semi-sweet Vidal Blanc
One of our new offerings for the 2012 season is an updated version of our vidal blanc. We will still continue to offer the crisp, dry version of our Vidal Blanc which was very popular last year. However, because the harvest was so bountiful, we decided to also try a new version of our old favorite. This new version in a beautiful blue bottle has a soft, semi-sweet character which we think many drinkers will like. The beautiful bottle and label make a very nice gift for someone special. We hope you get a chance to stop out and try out new offerings sometime soon. Our 2012 season begins this Thursday, May 24th at the Farmer's Market of Hershey. If you can't make it there, we hope to see you at our grand opening on June 2nd at our new location on 80 Shetland Drive.

Taste the Chocolate Port
Chris, Jody and Anne bottled the Chocolate Port over the weekend. We think it taste unbelievable. The final product is the result of over two years of tests, trials and tribulations. Our final product is a combination of our two finest wines aged for 2 years in French oak barrels. We decided to create the wine as a sweet dessert wine compliment the chocolate taste and essence. The finished product is a very tolerable 18% alcohol which goes well with cheese and fruit, a cigar or just by itself. Because of its alcohol content and our low production coupled with high demand we have decided to bottle the Chocolate Ruby Royal in 375 ml. dessert wine bottles. We think you will enjoy the final fruits of our labors. Unfortunately there are only 40 cases and I think they will go very fast so if you would like a bottle get in early and make your purchase while supplies last. We plan to double our production next year but that is 360 days away. Hope to see you at our grand opening on June 2nd from 10 AM - 8 PM.

Make a Decision on Glasses
Here is a chance to eliminate one of the difficult decisions that you will have to make when you come to our tasting room this summer. We picked up the glasses for the tasting room, and I wanted to give you a chance to preview them. As you can see, there is a traditional stemware glass on the right and a less traditional but very popular stemless glass on the left. We really like the comfort and style of the new tumblers but the traditional feel and ease of the stemware is undeniable. If you know the wine you like to drink and you are comfortable in your choice, you have to try the tumbler. Its like my favorite pair of sneakers and a good book. However, if you need to make some tough choices on several fine Cassel Vineyards wines or you are having wine with a nice dinner or date, then you may want to choose the stemware. Whichever glass you choose we think you'll enjoy the wine. Another possibility.?.?. you can stop by multiple times and choose multiple sets of both glasses.
